Meet The Mathlete Tutors
Emily Capers
Emily graduated with her degree in Applied Mathematics from Loyal Marymount University while competing as a Division 1 athlete on the indoor volleyball team. Emily then earned her Master’s in Applied Mathematics in order to expand her knowledge in mathematics and teaching. She is currently teaching at Loyola Marymount University. Emily began tutoring in college and over the past 12 years has enjoyed guiding students to that “aha” moment and mentoring them. When she isn’t focused on math equations, Emily can be found hiking with her husband and daughter in the mountains or on the beach playing volleyball (was on Team USA for 10+ years). She loves being a mathlete and proving that you can excel both in and out of the classroom.
